Pat Robertson, Haiti, and the devil

Apparently televangelist Pat Robertson is blaming the natural disaster in Haiti on a decades old pact he says Haitians made with the devil to get out from under French colonial rule. What an embarrassment for thinking people, especially thinking evangelical Christians. Read about it here.

  1. Here’s a few more quotes from America’s favorite televangelist.  Send your money in today and be saved!

BTW – remember that he wanted to run for the office of President on the Republican ticket.

“That guy was a homo – as sure as you’re alive.”

“The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”

“If you go all the way back to the days just following creation, men lived nine hundred years or more.”

“You say you’re supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense, I don’t have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist.”

      Sound right like what happened!!!
The rest of the crap he spouted is garbage….

      1. I have to take umbrage that the feminists might be engaged in killing children and practicing witchcraft.  These are clearly jobs for commies like myself.  We had the franchise on sacrificing animals and poisoning children’s minds long before there ever were feminists.  The nerve of them!

  2. If you believe in such things, and you think about it a bit, it seems not unreasonable to wonder if maybe Pat Robertson himself is the devil.

    1. Hey, someone has to carry Beelzebub’s torch since Swaggert and Baker are out of the give me your bucks for salvation loop. Geez, I wonder if this guy ever listens to the crap he’s spouting. I believe it was P.T. Barnum who summed these shyster’s philosophy up best; there’s a sucker born every minute.

    2. Hey, left, Pat Robertson being the devil is considered the gospel in my circle of friends. Who else could be as hateful other than old Lucifer himself. I don’t think he has a heating bill.

    3. You’re not the first to think it. Many a Christian wonders aloud the same. He certainly isn’t a follower of Jesus.

  3. So we’re talking about God punishing his children for leading lewd and lacivious lives? Not following his word?
OK, so I’m sitting in church last night (remember, Ferrari Bubba lives in East Jesus, Arkansas) and Brother James is reading from the book of Revelations before he dumps the basket of serpents and vipers out onto the floor, and he starts talking about Nimrod, Great-Grandson of Noah, winner of the 1st yacht race in recorded history, ‘God’s Own Yacht Race,’ which lasted 40 days and 40 nights. It was the fore-runner of our own ‘Americas’ Cup’ race.
Noah built his vessel to God’s own specs and stocked it as per God’s orders, and to his suprise, although God had told the people, “Enter the race or you will end up with the fishes,” his boat was the only entrant and he won.
I have always been a keen lover of linguistics (just ask Rynski) and word origins, and have always wondered where the derogetory phrase, such as “Hey, nimrod!” or “You’re a nimrod” came from.
Well, it didn’t take the earth too long to revert back to it’s old wicked ways, because Nimrod’s wife Queen (I forget her name) was the founder of Babel, one of the most wicked cities in the history of the world.
It, and the Hanging Towers were destroyed by earthquake just like Port-A-Prince was a few days ago. Co-incidence? Maybe . . .
Yer (still runnin’ from dem snakes, foots don’t fail me now!) pal,
    Ferrari Bubba

  4. Pat Robertson may have started out on the right path but I fear he has gone  a stray. I have to put him in the same category as all other TV Evangelist. They aren’t preaching the Gospel but a man-made doctrine.

  5. Hey jmac: For a much more pragmatic explanation that even a bomb-throwing Trotskyite like lefty will agree with is, that the poor people of the world always get the messy end of the stick.
The Haitian earthquake was 7.0 on the Richter Scale and killed aprox. 200,ooo. Our Bay area earthquake of 1989 in Calif. was 7.1 on the same scale and only killed 31.
Why? The Calif. Bay area people are richer per capita.  It’s just that simple.
Better and stronger buildings, heavy equipment and manpower to dig and search for survivors, enough doctors, nurses, hospitals, and medical suplies to treat the injured back to health. enough National Guard, police, fire personnel, and emergency crews to restore the vitals, like electricity, water, gas, and all the things that a modern society needs to function.
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) the German philosopher once said, ‘Out of chaos comes order.”
It took the Bay area less than 24 hours to resore order, but Haiti will take months, if ever.
Read Nietzsche’s ‘Man and Superman’ if you have a chance. It’ll help you understand.

    1. Knowing you from your writings, and knowing that you live in Hillbilly Heaven (you can’t be that far from Branson, MO.  Is there any place on the planet more whitebread than Barnson, MO?), I hope there is no inference of white superiority in your comments, FB.

While the heroic Haitian people were able to defeat Napolean’s army, they were not able to force the French to abandon all claims to Haiti until they agreed to pay “reparations” for the loss of French “property”, a concept that should be repellent to all decent human beings.  These payments were so onerous that the people of Haiti did not make their last payment until 1947!  Between French colonialism, US neo-colonialism and IMF extortion, it’s not hard to understand why Haiti suffers.  So, as far as racial superiority goes, if there is any, it sure doesn’t come down on the side of white europeans.  Wherever you go (and I assume you are one), you bring nothing but destruction, oppression and your evil religion to indigenous peoples.

Do you ever wonder why SF recovered so rapidly while New Orleans continues to suffer?

  6. Never been to Branson, my friend. Hank Jr, Waylon, Haggard, and Kris are more my type.
No way was I doing the white power trip. All I was saying was that Haiti, through no falt of their own, lacks the infrastructure to help themselves.
Graft, greed, and corruption run amok down there. What can you expect from a people who still worship black magic and witchcraft? Bad ZuZu.

      And you’re not a racist?

You don’t know anything more about voodoo than you know about socialism.  But what can you expect from an old white guy who lives in Arkansas by choice?

  7. Hey Lefty: Do I wonder why S.F. recovered quickly and the Crescent City continues to struggle?
No, not really. It’s the same reason that when the refugees of Katrina were housed in, and around the Superdome, all that was seen were beatings, rapes, shootings, stabbings, and murders.
No one could think and act for the common good. They all had, (and still do) have their hands out for FedGovCo to help, while the refugees from the San Diego area wildfires a few years ago that filled then Jack Murphy Stadium, all worked together to make it as comfortable and easy as they could for one and all.
It’s just a case of one group depending on Government for everything for generations (New Orleans), and a group that has tended to think and act for themselves in difficult situations. (San Diego)
    It’s just that simple.
Just like the 2nd generation welfare recipient that was stuck between floors when the escalator stopped. He waited, standing there between floors for 3 hours, until someone came and fixed it. He couldn’t think for himself enough just to walk down to the next floor by himself.
SAd, but true.  —  Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba

    1. What I want to know, FB, is what you did for those three hours while you were waiting for the repairman?
